I just ran across a guy willing to part with a used millermatic 250, any body know any drawbacks, warranty problems or down sides to this machine, At $ 800.00, the price seemes right, condition is excellent, (it ain't even dusty inside) It will be the BIG machine in my street rod/race car shop, tig'in mild steel is way slow, and over kill for the low buck bracket car's I build, so, I think this machine will pick up the build speed. I appreciate any information or advise. thanks RED CADDY (paul)

I have a millermatic clone. No metres on it but I do have a hi-lo range switch for wire feed. That makes it nice for .023 wire. I have used these units with .035 and occasionally .045 wire at several places of work.
Unless you are intending to use it 100 percent duty cycle on over 1/4 inch plate it will run for many years.
I paid 1450 Canadian about four years ago. (used)
I have about twelve feet of cable on the back for the 220 plug. it has been barely long enough. Another five to ten feet would have been nice.

I sold my 250 about 3 years ago & got a 251. Wish I still had my 250.
