chris - what version of windows do you have - win98, win ME, or win XP. Next, what browser are you using, that is the window with which you view internet pages.

Post back here with answers and more help...or call me. PM me for number...or look at my web site under "contact".

XP
Internet Explorer
I also updated the java to the latest version...
and I allowed my pop up blocked to accept weldingweb.com

If I go through the banner I get to the next page that tells me a chatroom window will open shortly...... but that never happens.

Try just "allowing all" for a brief moment and see if you can get in. This would allow all pop ups but if you're only going into the chat, then it won't hurt.

Also, check within IE - go to the Tools menu, click "internet options", once in internet option, click "advanced" tab then scroll down to Java, make sure there is a check mark on those. If no check mark, no workie.

Try that and let me know...

When I click on he breakroom banner I go to the next screen and this is what I see

lorenzo, welcome to our WeldingWeb-Chat site!
The Chat screen should appear in a separate window in less than one minute! Have Fun Chatting...
The main Welding Web bulletin board is here.

PLEASE -- If the room is empty, wait for at least 10 minutes, someone may join you!
Click here to return to Welding Web.

DigiChat requires a Java Compatible web browser to run.

I don't see a connect button

Try another browser - Firefox or Netscape. IE is junk IMO. It is the #1 choice of spyware writers.

Lorenzo, by your error message you're not properly loading the Java environment. It you've updated your Java Runtime environment here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp and still having issues you might check your firewall settings.

The java site www.java.com also has several online tests you can go through to see that your JRE is working properly.

Like me in the early morning, a good dose of Java is needed to get started.
