One of the guys at work got one of those. Shortest flight ever. He took off in a cross wind and turned upside down and flew it into the ground inside of ten feet away. HF did replace the broken tail for nothing though.

Assuming that it meets FAA requirements, and was in airworthy condition, I'd try it.

I'll stick with riding in my mothers plane for now. I'm not sure I trust my lift to HF.

Sure, why not? Lots of other junk has been certified so why not something from HF? Maybe HF would sell it as a kit so it would be in the "experimental" class.

If HF bought there plane from say Boeing or someother.. Ok, as long as it was new. Now if HF cobbled up there plane from stuff they sell, I wouldnt even want to be around it when they fueled it up..

I think some people should just stay away from HF.

Good thing he purchased the HF warranty.

Would the airline be known as Harbor Fright, I mean Harbor Flite?

I'd use it once, maybe 2 times at most. And only if I was in a pinch and couldnt get another airlines ticket.

Of course not. But what does that really mean? I wouldn't fly in one made by General Motors, either.

GM built a lot of military aircraft during WWII.

Good point. I do own an excellent M-1 carbine made by GM. But this ain't our granddaddy's GM.
My other thought was that HF is a retailer, not a manufacturer. As a retailer, they sell what is selling, and that includes "made in USA" products such as Hobart Welding equipment.
So if HF sold Boeing, McDonald-Douglas, and Lockheed aircraft in addition to Airbus, and some generic brands; I'd still be asking "Which airframe?"
Would you want to buy a Lockheed L-1011 from your local US-supplied Lockheed dealer?

I would if I could use my 50% off coupon.

Funny, in one form or another, they sell just about every tool used to make a plane. Let's hope they don't start selling the $100,000 toilet seats too.
Can you just imagine how they could use their Taiwan tooling & equipment?
Leaking/kinking yellow PVC air & hydraulic hoses
Quality(?) milled engine & landing gear parts
TIG/MIG welded airframes & components
Pneumatic tire/wheels
Pop riveted skin
Duct(k) tape pressurized cabin seals
The list could go on and on.....help me here.

Guys, I think if HF were selling aircraft they would be more along the lines of Cessna, not Boeing or Lockheed. LOL.
Even more likely would be U/L's.
Considering that it's gonna have to pass an FAA inspection, hell yeah I'd fly one.

I would have the same luck I have with tools:
The retail store would be distant from me, the sale ticket would be out of stock and the coupon I printed from internet would have be off by one letter or number from the scanned carton that is available for $30 more.
I could take the display ticket but it would come with a missing seat-belt, but they promise to replace that at other end of the flight, long after I need it.
