Does anyone have any experience with a Miller Swingarc Single 16' boom MIG unit? I have an opportunity to pick up a 15 year old set up with low hours for very little cost. The Swingarc comes with a Miller Regency 200 DC power supply.

While the swing feature could be useful in my shop, I am concerned about what appears to be a slightly more complicated wire feed arrangement. Will the Swingarc unit prove to be too troublesome for a hobbyist?

I appreciate any feedback out there.

Thanks,

MKS

That would make a very nice package for any shop. Being single phase, the Regency works fine in hobbyist shop. The Swingarc is essentially a 50 series feeder and gives no problems that you would not have in any feeder and parts are available. The only thing I can think of that you should keep in mind is the fact that the spring in the base of the Swingarc is extraordinarily powerful and can easily break bones if the safety for the locking device is not installed. This issue only comes up if feeder is to be removed from base. In operation, the package is a dream, giving operator circle of operation with radius of 30 feet and nothing on the floor to get in way of work. When adjusted properly, hang up your gun after welding, push unit up out of way and there it stays. weldersales

Thanks for the input, I forgot to ask about parts, but am glad to hear they are available.
