I think they made a pretty big sales blunder on this one. I recently upgraded my Max42 from the PAC121 torch to the RT60. Using the machine with the old torch was ok. Nothing stellar as far as cut quality and speed. Also, it went through consumables quite often. It was still an improvement over OAC on material under 1/2" so I just lived with its shortcomings.
I've been using it now for a few days with the new RT60 torch and its like a brand new machine. Seriously! I'm used to marketing hype over new products and promises from manufacturers about what their products can do but this is no bullsh1t. So, my point is that I was seriously considering a new Hypertherm machine to replace the Max42 which is really beyond its intended market life. But now? Why? I'm so impressed with the cut quality and speed that dropping $1800.00 for a new machine seems pointless. Ok, if I were running a CNC table with a machine torch then I could see putting a new machine in place but most of what I do is handheld cutting and gouging. Oh, and I'm still on the set of consumables that came with the torch. That's crazy!
Hypertherm what were you thinking?
Actually, its reasons just like this one that make a company like Hypertherm stand way above the rest and just one of the reasons I will never consider any other brand for my PAC and PAG needs.

P.S. Jim, tell your associates "Great Job" for me.
