I am new to tig and i am just running beads on a flat piece of 1/2 steel . I cant seem to get it flat as I should using a foward and back movement. If I weave it ok I am moving to fast. I have it set at 150 amp using 10 of argon 3/32 rod and 3/32

yeah, I was just thinking, 150a is a bit low for 1/2" plate. Someone with actual knowledge can chime in on proper amperage, but Miller has a guide on their website that I use as a base.

Draw a line, cut a groove, etc. to follow. That will help you run straight beads. You shouldn't need 200 amps.
