OK fellows this maybe a dumb question but.
What size portable generator ( watts ) would work with this welder?
I have 3500W 6.5hp with 30 amp plug. Does anybody thing this will run this welder?

30 amps is plenty, but you will need to look at how much wattage the welder draws. running and startup

Sound like a good plan. I have a Kill-A-Watt meter that I will hookup to the welder and see how many watts its pulling. Why did'nt I think of that? (duh)

The welder should say on the label. I'm not much of a welder, but I am a handyman I use a generator alot. I know that my compressor boggs down darring startup. If I'm plugged into even a 6500 because of starting watts.

I looked on the welder and the manual but could not find anything about wattage use. I know this generator will run the AC, fridge, and all lights in my class C motorhome with no problem.
