Hi, I'm the new guy on the block. Great forum. Old hand at ox-acet welding but new to Flux and MIG. Just bought a Century Power-Mate 70 Wire Feed Welder with gas attachment. Unit was last used as flux core and has what looks like a new roll of 0.030 Flux core wire.

I have used Lincolns before (for some spot welding) and like them but they are expensive for what I need. This deal I could not pass up. Only $50. Problem is that there is no wire sheet on the inside (like a Lincoln) nor is there any manual.

I know Lincoln bought Century several years ago. I have also made many searches on the Web and on this Forum but found nothing on this model.

Does anyone have information on these units?

Thanks

Also, this guy has one. Don't reply to his thread, as it's pretty old and he's not an active member, but there is an option to E-mail him if you hover over his handle (screen name):

Thanks for the replys. I tried both web pages and contacted individuals to no avail. Found a posting on another welding forum that Lincoln Electric is still supporting these Centuries with parts. A very nice guy (Jim Manthey) at Lincoln sent me documentation and a full users manual (via email within 24 hours). I will definitely be considering a Lincoln when I outgrow the Century.

Gene, you wouldn't happen to still have that owners manual would you. If you or anyone has the owners manual for the Century Powermate 70. Could you send it to me. Plavigne@t6b.com
Thanks

Plavigne, last time "Gene" loged on was in July of '07. I doubt he will get back to you on this.

My suggestion would be to do what he most likely did. Contact Lincoln and see what they can do for you.

Phone number they have listed on that page for the Service Dept. 888-935-3877

Good luck.
