Who here is planning to attend the FabTech/AWS show in Chicago this November?
If enough people will be there, we'll try to put together some kind of a party.

Anyone familiar with the Statute of Limitations in Cook County, IL?

Some kind of a party?!?

Okay, never mind the "Statute of Limitations" thing, that little misunderstanding has been cleared up. :blush2:

Count me in! :waving:

Now how 'bout a good old cheap flophouse? Is that Wyndam still in bidness?

Hahhaaa, did denrep think it was going to be booze and nude girls?

I'm up for a road trip to Chicago, it's been a few years since I've been there.
A Weldingweb winter BBQ sounds like a great idea! It's even been discussed in the chat room. ;)

Just beer? That'll be okay, I understand; it's tradition, "Big Al" was a beer man.

I'm not that good with maps.
I'm better with landmarks and examples.

Is this still a good way to get into Chicago?

1. - What does that mean, handsome or something?

2. - That's not a simple question!

I'm in. I just wonder if we could pitch in together and retain a local attorney, ahead of time... you know, just in case.

You guys are making me laugh. But it's giving me a horrifying flashback to when I was playing rugby and actually stayed conscious long enough following a match to make it to the afterparty afterparty. All I remember was two really big guys wringing out a bar rag down a third guy's throat.

I don't know if I'm prepared for all the fun when 3 weldingwebbers show up and STILL drink the bar dry. :p

Bob, any chance they could move it up a week? That would really help.

Thanks

If not  we'll be there anyway, thanks for the invite.

I'm anxious to get to Chicago, I've been wanting to get to Chicago for a long time, even since before dear old dad warned me, about hanging around - "Those #* pot smokin, protesting, peace sign toutin, communist, mini skirted, bra burnin, bead wearin', free luvin' b**s". Now where exactley do they hang out? Does anyone know? You know... so I can avoid 'em!

Can I go Dad please?? Sorry Dad, Peace!

You know Bob, It's late, I know, I just had to get up to take a leak, *#$# prostate.

But anyway, I was thinking, maybe it would be a kind gesture to invite some of those nice folks to your party, what do ya think?

I was pimped at the last minute! Should have left Sunday, fellow attendees fell by the wayside. Anyway, I'm heading out. Save a seat for me at supper Tuesday!

Bob if you could climb down off that chandelier long enough to ask the lippy little desk clerk a question. - How can a big hotel like that, not have vacancies for a any more weldors? I would appreciate it.

If anyone wants a hands on report of an exhibitor's display, I'll try to accommodate requests.

Gentlemen, Last chance - Sweet home Chicago!

I had a blast out there, even though I could only attend Sunday. Stayed in Hammdond, IN the night before. Some pretty wild stuff out there, and came home with about 50# worth of freebies.

I was there... to bad I didn't catch this thread before I left. Interesting but your pics look very much like mine! I can't wait till next year.

I heard it probably won't be as big as the McCormick's event but in any case its just cool to be surrounded by all that insane machinery. Every time they ran those CNC punches little hairs on my neck stood up.

I got some cool video of the robotic arms and such as well.

As a shop owner and employer, I'd like to go. problem is you need to hold it somewhere else. I dislike Chicago with a vengance and Illinois too. The state and especially the city is IMO, the center of all thats corrupt and wrong with the country today.

Pick Cleveland, or St.Louis, or Dallas, or Des Moines, or Cincinatti, or Boston, or anything but Chicago next time and I'll attend..

Chicago sucks, It sucks worse than Detroit.

Keep talking about Chicago and Illinois that way is gonna hurt Stickman's feelings.

It is a cesspool and I do whatever I can to stay below Interstate 80. But the Fabtech show is worth the trip. If nothing else, it made me rethink what manufacturers get our loyalty. A few of the big ones that we all put on a pedestal lost my business just by the way their reps treated us. Others gained our loyalty for the same reason.

I'd like to see it in Indianapolis but not sure they have a big enough center to put it. The show takes up a LOT of space.

Count me in I just got my flux capacitor back from 2007. I would take my kids but I can only take two of them since they are the only ones that were born yet. The rest of them came after 2007.......:jester::jester:

Indianapolis is big enough now. They're moving PRI back and that show is bigger than FabTech.
