Anyone use a harbor Freight paint gun?

But it's an important once :) . I've got one of their touch ups plus a small HVLP touch up. They are okay, but just okay. My farmer type painting isn't that critical.

I do. I build small trailers and they seem to work ok. But what do you want for $12.00. When mine get dirty I toss it and buy another one or two on sale.

I've used the HVLP gravity gun for painting small stuff on the car and it works fine. I also painted all my kitchen cabinets with it in lacquer. Google the HF paint gun and you will find a lot of info on it.

Just make sure you match the SCFM requirements to whatever compressor you have or you'll only get short bursts of good painting from the gun if the compressor can't keep up with it.

If you're going to paint a car and want it to look good from closer than 10 feet, buy a decent gun. DeVilibiss make a more economical line called finishline. They're ok for painting a car. The HVLP at home depot also works ok.

I have a HF gun I was going to use as a loaner/beater gun. I can spit the paint from my mouth better than that gun can spray.

I think I have the non hvlp versio of that gun, and it works well. The 1.5 should get you by doing color and clear, and the 1.8 for the primer. Maybe a 1.4 would be better for clear..

But think for that price you'll be happy with the gun.

A very good gun on the cheap is an Astro Pneumatic Evo. They run about $80

i ahve heard of people using the HF HVLP gun(s) and nto having much problem with them, unless their air runs out or thier paint is too thick. i heard that if you dillute the paint to a 4 parts paint, 1 part acetone solution, it works like a charm.
