Can anyone help me figure out what kind of test is this? I don't really know the names of the test but when I go to take a test I always pass but I never knew what kind of test is it! I'm going to take a test and they told me it was a 3g and a 6g test? I have no idea what is that...:dizzy:
I was looking on google to see a video sample or get pictures but could not find it...HELP...A MAN WHO LOVES TO WELD..WITH NO EDUCATION....

Not without more information. What process and material? What size material? How will the test be evaluated (Xray? Bend test? "That look good enough"?)
3G and 6G refer to the position of the test pieces and weld prep. 3G is vertical (1G is flat, 2G is horizontal, 4G is overhead) with a groove prep--generally an included angle of 75 degrees (between 60 and 90 is the usual spec). 6G is pipe set with the axis set at 45 degrees, so you have overhead at the bottom, vertical and horizontal going up the sides. (5G is the other pipe-only position, and is done with the axis of the pipe horizontal, so the weld is overhead and vertical)
