Arghh!

Okay, I have a really odd question! My 2001 2500 silverado never came with a manual (I bought it used)

To make a long story short, last time I had the oil changed, I didn't reset the "change engine oil" light...mainly due to the fact that I don't know how to do it! I know it involves the ignition, the break pedal and/or the gas pedal. :dizzy: and :blush2:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Key off.

Key ON engine OFF. (KOEO)
Press gas pedal 3 times to the floor in 5 seconds.
Key OFF.

Start engine. It should say "oil life reset"

If not try again. If still not, let me know.

I just bought an 01 truck also and had the same problem. I kept doing the ignition/gas pedal thing. I could not figure out why my light did not turn off. once i put it into drive it went out. If i remeber right, it will blink 5 times to let you know that its reset.
