Nice, neat job, Bill, but I think you shot yourself in the foot, by applying the top plate to the edge of the square tube frame. You will need larger clamps to clamp to the edge of the table than if you had allowed a 2 or three inch setback for clamping.:blush2:

If you find you need that edge (most useful) you can weld up some angle iron strips to give you a clamping edge-
Very tight looking though how about a close-up of one of your long edges-is that welded?

Nice job if you want a suggestion I would weld a 3" piece of pipe at a 45 to the side to hold your mig gun and can also be used for ground clamp.

Anyone have any clever ideas on how to get a table up off its casters so that it won't move around? Pics, sketches, or details would be helpful.

The way I solved the problem is by making pins that fit into holes drilled in the concrete...see the pic above.

Another suggestion would be to weld a coupling nut to the bottom rail near each corner install threaded rod, weld a nut on top of the rod and either drill holes in the floor like Rocky or weld a wobble foot to the bottom end of the threaded rod. This way you can level the table if you need to.

One downfall to having those overhanging corners like that is if you catch yourself bumping into one on accident. Depending on the thickness of the top they can get you pretty bad.
