Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself.

I've been exposed to MIG, done some Heli-Arc (TIG), but no stick yet. I hope to change that and start learning it all soon.

I'm a computer programmer by trade and I've recently gotten into Blacksmithing and Welding.

One of my granfather's was an Arc Welder and the other a Lumberman. I never got to spend too much time with my welder grandfather, so I didn't get to learn much about welding.

Welding has always fascinated me and I think it's about time that I learn. It will also help me with my Blacksmithing which I've started.

It's very fun to work with metal and I love the fact that I get to work with crap that's like 6000 degrees Farenheit. Woohoo!

Anyway, that's my schpiel. Glad to be here.

I think that if you get the hang of burning various types of rod in all positions and get a handle on TIG, you'll have alot of the other types of welding close to licked.
