hi , just want to say hello i have been welding for 13yr i have my own truck and tools and machine i work in plants and out side of plants on other stuff im not good at computers or typing or any tech stuff i just work with my hands out in the heat and cold i like the site and i like to look at all the stuff you all do i hope i can help any way with any thing well good luck to all

Welcome aboard. On that project, did you have to get 100% pen welds? If so, did you space the pipes apart and follow the keyhole to see your penetration?

yes it was a 100% weld i put the beed in with 1/8 6010 the gap was less then 1/16 hot pass with 6010 filler with 6010 cap 3/32 7018

Welcome to the group. I'm sure with 13 years of experience, you will have some helpful tips to add too. I didn't think anyone used 6010 rod anymore. When I first start to learn to weld, my Boss/teacher, started me out on 6010, I hated that rod, but now I won't use anything but 6010, and 7018.
