Hey guys and gals (if any), My name is Kyle and I recently got started in welding about a year ago. I'm going to the local community college to get my welding certificate. I took an O/A class in the spring, and I am currently just finishing up my SMAW class. So far, I love stick welding. It comes easy to me...takes me no time at all to complete our competencies. We're using brand new Miller Syncrowave 250DX (Stick/tig). Once I can afford one, I'll have me one

I bought some 80cu-ft Oxy-Ace tanks, and a Victor Journeyman II torch set over the summer. Mainly for cutting, but I figure I can use it to weld the thin stuff until I get a SMAW welder. I still don't have the cash to fill the tanks ($60-$65), so I haven't been able to use it.

MIG wasn't offered next semester, so I signed up for a TIG class. Should be interesting to say the least

I'm doing this mainly for a hobby...but wouldn't mind starting a small side job someday.

Thanks!

My uncle owns his own welding company, and has been at it for years. I would love for him to teach me further, or to get advice and tips from him, but we live over 500 miles apart. But...I do get most of his hand-me-downs which is good!
