I had a Radiator one that I fixed with a pump from a Marine place. It worked ok and cost about what the miller kit did. The problem with it was, it had a different type shaft seal and it leaked a lttle. I would probably buy the Miller setup because it comes with the brass gears in it's kit. I now have a Binsel cooler that is the same as a Miller coolmate 3. They are so much quieter then the older ones and hold 3 gals of juice.

In case anyone else has the rad 1 heres a link to the pump that should do the trick, just have to make a bracket up to get it in the right position
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1611759295&ccitem=
Should last a bit longer also 2 zerk fittings and an adjustable packing nut.

Oh and the pump is cheaper than the miller rebuild kit...

For any coolers that happen to have a procon brand pump, the procon factory offers a rebuilding-exchange service for approx $50-60. A good deal. 615.890.5710 is their number.

Yep, that pump at Graingers looks just like the new leaker I had. The Factory Miller Obendorfer-? has a different type front seal. You will find that style is made to drip some.

Binzel makes this coolers for Miller by the way. That is what the Binsel rep said. I found it for $390.00 local so it beats a Miller one in price. It is about the same cost as a 2 gal Benard but this one holds three gals.

If anyone has a miller radiator 1 found seal alone for it the part#is 5007 and it is $7.60. Was going to replace pump but the shaft didn't look too bad so I tried the seal first and is working fine so far. wickeds10 hooked me up with the company that had them and got him a seal as a finders fee...
the company is depco pump out of Clearwater, FL he's a liunk to the pump http://www.depcopump.com/catalog205/134.pdf
their ph#is 1-800-446-1656 and they only charged me $7 to ship it

Scott, no offense, but I believe the Binzel rep would be incorrect. I would find it hard to believe that Binzel would be making the coolers for Miller.

they are obviously made by the same company they are both identical, they may have some corners cut to keep price down or you may just pay for the pretty blue color.

I have heard from several sources that Binzel does indeed make the Miller Radiator. I dont know why that seems so impossible- Miller sells a lot of stuff with miller stickers on it that they dont make. Their tig torches are mostly made by CK. I am pretty sure they dont make all of their plasma cutters either.
