Miller, Lincoln or Hobart ????

I have been looking at a Miller Matic 251.
Should I look at Lincoln? Are they good Quality? What about Hobart? I have been told Miller is the best in the biz! Most of the Profesional welders tell me Miller is Great but pricey! I want to buy a welder that all I have to worry about is learning how to weld the right way and be able to build frames for bikes gokarts and trailers. I thought I was on the right track with a miller Matic 251. Give me your thoughts I will buy my welder on 10/14/04. I am also going to order the student pack if I decide to go with Miller to get the free Jacket! I learned about that from weldingweb.com. All of you fellow welders are GREAT to have around. The MM251 would be my choice if I was buying a new one today. Miller has the best product service in the biz and a lot of guys have these so setup help is near. I like your line of thought as far as getting a good machine right up front instead of fooling with a junker where you never know if its you or the machine. You wont outgrow that machine either. Its very dependable and has the power for heavy work too such as trailer fab.

Miller, Lincoln, and Hobart are all good, and so is Esab, but I personally would stick with one of those 4, for parts availability, resale value, repair stations, and general quality.
I like Miller- I have a bunch of blue boxes, and they very rarely break. Never Had a wire feeder break. Miller will finance- you put a third down, and pay the rest off over a year. Makes it a little easier to get the right model, and not end up buying another bigger one later.
But Lincolns are very good machines as well, and they usually match each other, feature for feature, with competing models.

Hey nobody mentioned the MM210. Personally I dont like the short arc on the 251. We have more 210 owners I rephrase more satisfied 210 owners than any other class across the board:cool2:
