Mortar mixer paddle rubber

What kind of rubber do I use to replace the paddle rubbers on a mortar mixer?
I got some 1/2" thick conveyor belt material I could use...

I'd try it. What's the worst that can happen? It won't mix?:laugh:
I use old conveyor belt for lots of things. It's tough.
