Anyone have any experience with the HF 10" tile saw? I bought it the other for $189 (regular $299) but havn't used it yet. I'm remodeling my masterbedroom so I'm hoping it will do the job. It's extremely heavy and it looks like it's built farly well. Just curious...your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I guess no one has any comments for ya about the HF tile saw. I don't either, but I have LOTS of tile experience, albeit a little dated. If you have any other questions I can probably help.

Hi there, I have used their cheaper one $49 something last year. I have tiled around 650 sq ft area without any problems. The machine still runs to date ready for another job. Never have to replace the blades throughout the project. I even laid diagonal for kitchen which demanded more cuts. ...only maintenance I made was cleaning water reservoir and making sure replace water as often as I can.... little debris can get in there. Overall, I would do the same thing.. Pretty happy with the unit. I can even throw it away and still be happy with the purchase. Very functional! ....to top all that, I saved $2500 labor :D. ....Yours being a heavier duty, I'm confident it will serve your purpose for the big project you'll be undertaking.. Take care//Jo

Thanks guys! Put it together today and honestly, it looks pretty robust. It didn't come with the blade so I'm going out to get one tomorrow (probably either Husky or Rigid). My wife and I are remodeling our master bath and I think it should do the job. Typically, I'm I die hard Milwaulkee, Ridgid, Bosch type guy but again, for the price I just couldn't just couldn't pass it up. I have the 4x6" bandsaw and metal bender from HF and they've treated me well...we'll see how it goes. Thanks a lot for your comments...I'll let you know how it turns out. Best Regards, Jeff

I got one of those $49 wet tile saws to do some repairs in my bathrooms, worked fine for that. For my next project (ongoing), I went and got a carbide tipped blade for it and have been using it to cut laminate flooring. About 2/3 finished with over 700 sq ft of coverage. If it fails today, it was well worth the money!

Does that wetsaw come with the "wet" parts? I thought it was a dry tile saw with just a tray to catch water if converted.
I have a small job (about 30' of slate tile countertop edging) and can justify one at that price if it has the "wet" parts included.

That's exactly the unit that I bought. It has a built-in reservoir for water. Hope it works out good for you too. .....I'm just happy I didn't purchase a highprice dewalt or ridgid one as it would just be sitting in the garage after the job... .....my case, HF was money well spent. goodluck!

Thanks//Jo

Sorry to resurect this old thread but
I got the 4" tile saw on sale for $40 and just couldn't pass it up.
I have two questions for anyone (hopefully STORM) that uses one.
1. The rip fence latches don't snap down. I guess I could force them but it looks like they would break off the thin plastic tray edge. The display had that same issue, but I figgured the display had been misused. I can rig up a C-clamp to work but do you also have this issue?
2. The blade guard will interfere with long pieces passing through-this seems no safety issue since the blade mill just throw a little mud at me. Its the base of the guard since the verticle part lines up with the blade. The base of the guard sits on top of the table and has no depression for that base in the table.

Both issues are resolved-but I can find no way to eliminate the post.
I did force down the latches and they now work, although there is slight slack in them, so I will still also use a clamp to secure them.
The blade guard mounts to the underside (not the top)-duhh me !
The blade guard doesn't quite match the blade, but I can cure that with a couple of hammer taps on the support, or a washer under the saw blade.
I think this tile saw will work fine for the countertop shelf I am making and its cheaper then renting one for a couple days.

Update- I couldn't resolve the blade guard problem-the motor must have been mis-mounted at the factory and the cut wasn't in line with the table or with the blade guard.
I returned the 4" saw and got a duplicate-no hassle at all in the replacement counter.
I completed about 30' of sawing 1/4" slate and the saw is great-the cuts all are smooth as silk and didn't seem to have any affect on the blade sharpness-last one was as smooth and easy as the last.
Speed is about half as fast as sawing wood-much faster then I expected- do work outside- everything within 5 feet of the saw is covered with chalk dust soup that seems almost impossible to wash away-the wash water dries dusty again LOL.
100% satisfied with the saw-a bargain at the $40 price and I wouldn't feel cheated if it was twice that price.

I have the 10" saw and it works fine. The only thing I had to play around with to get it to work right is the water jets that spray on the blade.

I used to work with my Dad as a tile setter. We had a $1100 MK tile saw and a 10 in. Harbor Freight saw. The HF saw was the one we used on small jobs and jobs that were hard to get to (upstairs and basements). We probably made more money with the HF saw than we did the MK.

Update...Well, my wife and I finished the bathroom, which included the floor and shower. I must say, the saw worked perfectly and I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a inexpensive 10in wet saw. I only got to use the saw a couple of times though because I went out of town and when I returned my wife had finished and grouted all of the tile. How's that for a soul mate;)
