I just started teaching myself how to weld. I picked up a 140 amp stick welder at Harbor Freight and a good book. So far I can get a bead of some kind, though it's not smooth and probably not too great yet. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any classes, or anyone to show me how. I taught myself everything I know about woodworking though...
I'm planning on making fenders and skid plates and such for my truck, but I also have done a lot of woodworking and really want to start building furniture that mixes metal and wood.
I really have no idea what I'm doing- looking forward to learning!
