Feedback on an ESAB PCM-500i

Hey all,

I am a newbie here and need to tap into the knowledge that lies within. I have an opportunity on a very gently used ESAB PCM-500i plasma cutter. It's being offered by a friend with a 60 gal. compressor for $850. Trouble is, I don't know a thing about ESAB or if I am getting a good deal or not.

Any feedback on ESAB plamas, pricing, durability, etc. is greatly appreciated.

My dad has an esab and likes it. I have his OLD linde and it works great.

Is model 500 1/2" cut or 50 amps?

It sounds like a great deal to me.

Thanks alot. The unit runs 35A at a 40% duty cycle. It is rated for 1/2" mild steel and will scour 5/8".

They hold the pattent on Plasma. Should know something about it, I would think. John
