LP Gas tank loader/unloader

I'm looking for ideas on how to build a device that would assist in the unloading and loading of 100 lb. LP gas tanks from a pick-up truck. For the most part, it would probably be used for the loading after being filled. I'd like to build it without using any electrical, hydraulic, pnuematic, etc. Just a little muscle and a lot of physics. If you have any ideas to share I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

A simple hand winch mobile mini crane is probably your best bet, that or a ramp.

Do these tanks have lifting rings? If not, a lift gate comes to mind.

One thing I forgot to mention was we are also building a shed over the pump area of the fill tank so head room will be limited. The only thing I can come up with is using a pice of 8" channel iron that can somehow be tilted or pivoted from vertical to horizontal using a lever. Something that can help the user get a full tank off the ground and slid in the pick-up bed. This is probably going to be one of those trial and error projects. Thanks for the ideas fellas.

I just stand in the truck and pull them up. Is it a DOT or ASME or combo Tank?

A simple Pick Up truck lift would be simple.

If you can't tip a 100lber into a truck bed you really shouldn't be messing with it then....look at some forklift LP swing down brackets for some ideas..... Yale has some that go from upright to horizontal .... you still have to pick it up just not so far....
