No experience with this machine, but just curious about your problem.

Assuming they have tested the machine before shipping it to you (although I realize that may not be a good assumption, but if I were them I sure would after the first time, if not all the time), it is curious how you could have such poor luck.

With that in mind, I am just trying to figure out if there could be some sort of rational explanation.

Are these units packaged well when you received them? What kind of shape did the external packaging look like when you received it?

Also, what shipper are they using. (Shake and shock is the single most common killer of large electronics like power supplies, lots of large-mass components mounted to circuit boards creating a lot of leverage to tweak things when they get whacked hard).

Have you checked your power main voltage to be sure it is in spec for this machine? I know that I live in rural area where my power main has been very high sometimes, as much as 125Vac on the 115Vac line in the past, better lately. Kills lightbulbs pretty fast.

What is the humidity like where you are when these failures happened?

If the power mains voltage looks good, I would guess the machine design is just not robust enough against the shipping and handling. I would not be able to resist the temptation to open it up and look around, but you should only do that if you know what you're gettting into.

Ask the vendor what they found when they examined the machines you returned.

Depending on which shipper they use, you could ask them to use a different shipping company, just on a wild chance it might make a difference. You could have a local driver that doesn't like heavy packages and slams them around a little extra just for spite.

It is just peculiar, because of course any company that had that kind of experience routinely, wouldn't last in business very long.

Good luck!

If i had a machine that had repeatedly caused problems like you are describing I think I would be requesting a refund, and go buy a different machine.

just give it up. quit wasting your $ with UPS sending it back and forth. I have a 40 amp chinese sitting in the floor that i wont touch because I sent it back 2 times (not with parker). I replaced it with a Thermal Dynamics unit that cuts every time I need to use it. I now have faith in plasma again. I hate to hear your having troubles.

Let me try to give more info:

1st time i had it at the race car shop cutting a truck apart to get it ready for Bonneville,it died cutting out the bead for the fuel cell.Paid freight there.

2nd time it came back DOA,they covered freight both ways.

3rd time, had it at my house started to clearance the new midplate for the race car, died after one cut.

I would just cut my losses but my wife wont let me chalk it up as a learning experience.

Is the one sitting on your floor a Parker or a Giant? If so, would you consider selling it?

Hi,

If they are not willing to stand behind their product call your credit card company and dispute the charge (99% of the time you will get your money back as long as the product is returned). We cover shipping both ways if our product fails.

If you paid them cash, we may be able to help you out and exchange the unit.

Hope i was helpful,

Simon
