I haven't even seen one of those yet, but you might ask David. He has a pro. I have an old LN-25 and it is fantastic. Mine is the cc/cv variable voltage model. I would like to someday have one that connects to the machine remote and can handle pulse.

They've "improved" the LN-25? That's kinda scary....

This thread is 3 years old, but I will revive it. Why does the "new" LN 25 Pro Extra Torque model retail for $200 less than the standard "old" Ln 25? Are there drawbacks to getting the "Pro"?

I have a LN-25 pro. As far as actual use its every bit as good as the good old LN. But personally for ease of use and durability I use my old LN-25 day in and day out.

I have a Miller Super S32P and it works great. I would like to hear from someone that has used both the Miller (32 or 12VS) and the LN-25 alot, and then hear the ups and downs of both. Right now I look at it as preference for the Miller, so I don't have to buy all new drive rolls. But, if I found an LN-25 cheap, I would not hesitate to buy one. I hear raves for both. Never really heard any dislikes for either.

I've been using the old LN-25's for years and don't really have a problem with them at all., I think I currently have 16 of them. I believe the newer ones are a little easier to remove the case. I do have one miller suitcase feeder but have only used it for bore welding and don't really like the fact that it can't be used "accross the arc" like the LN can, I also don't know if Miller makes an across the arc feeder, but if they do it would most likely be jus as good as the lincoln.

Hey Expat, we're missing some of your GREAT photo albums here. I hope you can post some soon.

What Miller feeder do you have? And when you say "across the arc", if you mean hooking the welding lead to power it and a small cable to sense the voltage, ie; voltage sensing, then yes, Miller does make them. My 32 is voltage sensing and the newer 12VS is also. I think that's what you meant.

Stickman---I have been sooo frickin busy that I've had ZERO time to post any pics. Right in the middle of re-lining a bunch of 150 ton truck beds, finally got caught up on the buckets, we tipped a haul truck over the other day and I had to do the recovery, we also tipped over one of the shovels a while back and destroyed the cabin, ( in my over 20 years of doing this sh**, I have only ever seen 2 shovels tipped over and both have been right HERE in the last year), so had to do some EXTREME modifications to get it back in the dirt. Just got done testing all my guys too, had 100% success on D14.3 all position, unlimited thickness test---they did great!!

Don't know what Miller feeder this is, I got it from Climax and they put their badge on it, they probably got it from Bortech who probably got it from Miller, anyway it's a neat little feeder and REAL simple.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant, I will look into the Miller feeders, I have a pile of the A-22's, but I don't like them cause of the "open to the elements" spools, it's really humid here and a spool will rust on one over night, I do like the switch on them that when you pull the trigger, they keep welding till you pull it again, comes in handy when "adapting" a mig gun to a track torch car, don't have to use a zip tie to hold the trigger like I do on the LN's,---takes a lazy man to find an easy way to do a hard job.

Expat - It's good to hear you're busy! Keep busy and post when you can!!!

Woah! I hope you got pics of the turn overs. I hate to see it happen, but if it happens, I'd like to see it...... you know.

If you ever have a chance to REALLY use the Miller 12VS, you would be the perfect "consumer reporter". I can only imagine the use and abuse your equipment takes. But I have faith in Miller, and I think the 12VS's would hold up fine.

Take care.
