What to make in school..

ok i wanna make somthing in school.. im taking an autobody collision and welding coarse, except i wanna learn about the welding more than i do with the body work and stuff.. anyway.. what are some ideas of stuff i could make in school, somthing that can be used or somthing that actually has a purpose, i have access to differnt size angle iron, sheet metal ( limited ammounts),we have like circular steel bars in differnt sizes, alluminum ( dont have a tig welder though), uhhmm thats all i can think of but i know we have more..

anyway just post your ideas of things i can make that will be use that has a purpose...

A welding table is a good start. Welding carts, accessory carts.

One of the best things I have made and used in my shop is my cherry picker. I have also made a bearing press, welding table, various stands for chop saw, grinder, and an extention to bandsaw stand.

One of the past projects on Two guy garage was a car door hanger. It was made so that it would hold the door in place for mounting it would also tilt etc.
