I have been welding for a number of years, mig, stick, gas and always disliked the limitations of gas cutting, I have been watching the prices of tig and plasma cutters for a while and when I saw this unit I figured it was worth a try. I got the unit shortly after order and got setup fairly quickly, was very eger to try the plasma cutting part and was verry pleased with the results!! I had a project I wanted to complete and used the stick delder on pluls squair wave and was thrilled, finished up with my mig and cant wate to get on the next project.

Very nice straight cuts there. I have the Super200P from everlast as well, just not the steady hand just yet. What PSI were you using for your cuts.
The plasma works well. The MMA I will trying testing this weekend.
Are you only using the MMA and plasma due to lack of argon?

Hey Mramos, thanks for the compliment's, the old hand is a bit out of practice but I did ok. I found that 75-80 psi did the trick on the thicker stuff but may change my mind after I get use to it. The Argon reg was not in the shipment so I have had to wate to try the tig, LOVE the MMA!!! boy what a differance from the old buz box!! Did you get any user instructions with your unit? I got nothing and had to figuer it out by trial and error and have not been able to get any support yet!! Cheers and happy welding

Well I have had a chance to do some additional work with the unit, I did some cutting of; 1/2" Aircraft Alum. aloy, interesting!! cuts well but dose much better with some pre heating! Copper butifull cuts!!! Stainless .060 and 1/4" great cuts, shapes, patterns. Did some 1/4" plate steel work, but seams, virtical and spots, 6011 rod 120 Amps pulse DC, great beads, no slag left, clean welds, LOVE it. Did some cast iron repairs, great results, clean, smooth, seems to have alot less spater than the old buz box, may have to retire the old girl!!, Cheers Quality

The cuts looked great, welds too. Funny I bumped mine up tonight to 75 PSI (from 65) but never got around to trying it. Was side tracked with stainless and the stick. I think I might change my dryer too.
No argon here yet either. I had to turn the AMPS unit all the way down to attempt stick with thin stainless (MG 6308L-16, they were 3/8" rods) and it was still a tad strong, it worked for filling, but not well on tacking, I will need TIG for that for sure. Was fun though, filling the first holes I burned though at 200 amps.. My nose it all plugged up this morning, probably the flux on the SS rods. Need to fix a respirator under my helment somehow :)

I did get a manual, Alex said a better manual is coming. The plasma and stick are straight forward (minus the talent part, looks like you have that part figured out). Once I get the argon regulator, I have a local metal fab shop that was going to show me how to work it all. I will post that I learn here. On the Super200P support has been great. On the welding side, I have winged it. I can do a lot more with this unit over my harbor freight unit for sure.

How did you pre-heat it?

I will pick up 6011 need week as I see it mentioned a lot on weldingweb. I too saw it cuts stainless (and aluminum) great for me. Also 5/8" steel.
On the cast iron repair, was the MMA or TIG? And with gas? Assume with gas as you mentioned less spatter.

Did you say three eighth's inch rod at 200A? were you welding 3/4" plate? I cant encourage you to weare a resperator enough!!! it dont take to long to develop health complications burning all that good stuff!! I have taken to seting up a good strong fan to blow the fumes away form my work area in adition to the resperator!!
Preheated the Alum. Aloy with Plasma, cast Iron repair was without gass

I just added a fan myself when welding and cutting now. No respirator yet. But I might if I can get it under the mask. :)
