New Welder Trainee !

Hey everyone just found this site and its a great one ..lots of info..I just started to try to weld about a couple weeks ago..Im learning on a Lincoln 225 ac/dc stick welder...trying the self taught method...crud didnt know u had to know so much......rods, metals, arc, angles omg i could go on and on...but its fun and yes I have big plans prolly like everyone else...lol..on all the things im planning to make ...but then i have to restrain myself and remember im just learning....anyways im from Phoenix,AZ....and hope to keep learning from you all ..thanx and see ya's... P.S. Im thinking of switching over to MIG...might be easier to learn with... thanx again.... Lizard

Check out your local community college for some welding classes. At the beginning, it really helps to have someone give you some pointers as far as good vs. poor technique. You will learn a lot faster and also have a good idea of what makes a good weld.

Thats a great idea...never thought of a community college for classes..thanx
