Hello, im looking to buy a relitevely entry level tig welder.

I have been mig welding for 10 years, and have never had the need to do tig. I now find myself needing, or should i say , wanting to learn how to tig weld. I have experiece with tig welding at work, but its very minimal, i normally stick to MIG.

I am looking to beable to TIG weld, mild steel. With a maximum thickness of .125 or .1875. I am not needing to beable to ARC weld, nor do i need it to be a plasma cutter, but if a combo unit is the most economical choice, i can live with that. I would prefer that the welder have an amperage pedal also, but its not required. I would like something that is beginner friendly and hobby friendly.

The option to beable to weld aluminum down the road, would be nice, but its not necessary.

Could you please direct me to which of your products meet my needs.

Thanks alot!

Taylor

Well, if you want to do Aluminum, AC TIG is nice. You did not mention the units you have now, but I assume you have Argon already if you have MIG'd for 10 years?

When you go the AC TIG direction, the prices jumps a bit. You probably know you can do MMA aluminum by flipping the ground and torch. Negative at the rod with the right rod. Not as pretty as TIG but it works.

The Everlast SuperP series has it all (plasma as well). The Everlast CT-D series is probably what you need. It really depends on the budget. Both do stick as well. There is a new unit coming that does MIG as well, but I have not seen it yet.

PM me a phone number and I'll call you and see which unit we have fits you best.
