In my opinion they have great customer support and communication.

They take the time over the phone to answer all your questions with no talk around.

They'll even help get you help with their competitors!! Even to the point of getting you a refund.

And their follow-up communication after you place your order is GREAT!! I love the email which gives you your order number clicking on that brings you to their site and gives you current status and details on your order, and not only gives you the shippers tracking number but by clicking on that number takes you to the shipper's site and shows your current shipping status. And from all those windows you can return to the opened email and reply to logevity with any concerns you might have about order details or shipping.

Will let you know when it arrives and if DHL did their usual gorilla handing.

Hey looks like cuda has some dealings with that other mfr as well. I see his posts and the usual response from that mfr. Hopefully things will work out for cuda. You may have another potential customer swinging over from the DARKSIDE of the Force (yep StarWar fan)

add on: Cuda reply was to post "1 inch severance cut with longevity Force Cut LP80D"

Oh,

We thought Cuda's account was managed by the competitors as a way to boost talk on the forums. We deleted his posting cause we felt he had some affiliation with the other company and his account was used as an advertising ploy. Message restored.

Sorry Cuda.

now, I'm intrigued. Just how can Longevity deal with another company and get you a refund when they have nothing to do with them?

Hammack,

Actually, we would not issue the refund. We offered to help the customer by giving them useful advice on how to proceed with getting their money back such as deadlines to file disputes with paypal and credit card company, how to ship the item back and report the shipment return to paypal or cc company and other ways to put pressure on the seller to perform as they should to insure the customer is not left in the dark.

Basically, a lot of people do not know the procedure on how do deal with sellers who do not cooperate and we offer a guideline that may or may not help.

I was stating "my opinion" of their offer to help.

It was through my pointing out the vendor/mfr's 30 day 100% Money Back Warranty that the other vendor fully refunded and unit price.

Longevity in "no way had anything to do with the refund that was given back to me by that vendor/mfr".

The mere offer by a competiting vendor to assist was impressive to me.Through their advice I learned the proper procedures of requesting a refund, rather than constant posting of my compliants Again as stated in my post this was "In my opinion".

Well folks Force Cut 80 amp Plasma Cutter arrived today.

For once DHL gorilla handlers did not drive over the box.

Opened box, which was well packaged, noticed no owners manual. Called Simon at Longevity told him no manual. Within minutes and before the phone call was ended he emailed me a manual. Noticed manual was not for the new unit but a similiar unit. Simon said they are working on the new manuals for the Force Cut 80 amp Plasma Cutter. He explained the proper wiring sequence and unit operation, also said that the new manual for the unit will be worked on this weekend and released soon.

I will finish hooking up unit tomorrow and give it a try

Thanks for the support.

Make sure no styrofoam got stuck in the air inlet.
I would like to see your clean cut too. I know I have to work on my technique to get a good clean cut. I sure like the 80D, I am sure you will like it too.

Hi ya Dan,

Yep I checked everything and your right about the foam packing. The unit was sealed in a plastic bag yet somehow pieces of that foam got in and covered the unit.

Before I assemble it tomorrow I might remove the cover and make sure none of that foam found its way inside.

Very nice unit! I am impressed by the torch, its consumables and the torch leadwith its denim covering.
Hopefully I will be able to steady my hand for that cut I need to do its that or wait for that rolling standoff

Peeks at gadget eyeing that wonderful Bear work.

Yep you were also right about the electrostatic charged packing foam some had gotten in through the vents on the unit. I am not sure what if any damage it might have caused but given that when the case was open that foam stuck to my hand despite trying to wave it off my hands. I ended up blowing the foam bits off the circuits by using some air.

I hope to have fully assembled and working soon.
