Does Longevity no longer sell through eBay? I was hoping to scoop up a unit there for below website price, as you can do with some of the other import brands. I just like the customer interaction better here.

Thanks,

Holger

Well!! I looked for along time around various places and never seen Longevity on Ebay or any other auction.

Simon will have to address that question.

Holger,

We do not sell on ebay and do not allow Longevity units to be sold on ebay. However, if you are looking for a deal, we offer great deals on WW. Which model are you interested in?

Thanks, Simon. I saw you used to sell through eBay, that's why I asked. What about this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/40-Amp-Plasma-Cutter-Inverter-Dual-Voltage-110-220-Volt_W0QQitemZ350103648914QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item 350103648914&_trkparms=39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A15|240%3A1308&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14? Says Longevity and has kind of a nice case. I was looking at a 50A plasma cutter.

Thanks,

Holger

Holger,

We contacted that seller as they are infringing on trademark patents in the USA. I am trying to see if they got the unit from one of our dealers. If not, we will take them down and seek damages if they do not remove the unit from ebay. Obviously, they are posting it without our permission and we will deal with it.

If you wish to get a 50amp plasma cutter, we sell for $479.99 here on WW with a consumable pack. Free shipping.

Thanks

Uh, I hope I didn't get anyone into trouble. Hey, thanks for the special offer here on WW. I am still on the fence...getting closer though. :)

Thanks,

Holger

No,

We take copyright seriously. In fact, we will go after that guy and other competitors who constantly steal our pics. The longevity name stands for service and respect in the industry and is something we built over time.

Thanks for reporting the seller - we will go ahead and call them tomorrow hoping for a peaceful resolution!

That's understandable. BTW, you want to discuss trademark violation with these guys, not copyright.

Good luck,

Holger

Simon,
I am very interested in getting an 80 amp unit. Can you send me the price for us WW lurkers? I think that unit will be perfect for my cnc table. I only have a small shop at just over 2000sf but we manage to get allot done in there. Mostly tractor work, but we do have our toys as well. Here is my dad on his very old RD4 having some fun (hard to tell but he is actually working down a slope).

Probably the first project I have for the plasma is to cut out the old bushings in one of my excavator buckets so i can install new ones.

Thanks,

Jeff

They probably don't sell on ebay due to too many negative feedbacks from buyers.

Crawler,

Actually, there are units on eBay being sold from our dealers with 100% feedback. Please check out the current auction: 120374214923

Longevity authorizes certain dealers to sell on eBay and we keep a tight lid on what is posted on there to not flood the market. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Jeff

Jeff,
I have the 80D in use on my CNC table. It works great because the duty cycle is 100% at 60 amps. You can also use the 60 amp torch, modify it for non contact start and control the torch with your CNC machine. Works great that way. I have posted here how to modify the 60 amp torch for CNC.

Why limit who can sell on Ebay? Seems an unfair advantage for some dealers to boost numbers nationally.

So, you mean if someone bought a Longevity and then decided they needed to upgrade to a larger machine, just needed quick cash, or were just unhappy with the product that they could not sell it on ebay? I may be wrong but I don't think you would have any legal authority to dictate whether they were able to sell a product or not simply because it has your name on it. If that were the case Ebay Motors would not have any cars for sale on it and other areas of Ebay would be empty as well.

Surely I must have missed something.

I am looking for plasma cutter and still am, but your answer to the above post will help me decide whether I want to take Longevity off my list or not.

I also realize that this thread is over a year old, BUT I just signed on a day ago after lurking on here for a while and just noticed this.

Apparantely the sellers were using pictures and info obtained from Longevity's web site without permission from Longevity.

I got you. So, the problem was not necessarily with the ITEM itself, just the photos used in the auction ad?

If I was going to ebay something I would take my on daggum pictures anyway... Some folks just must be lazy.
