Hey all. Im not even a welder yet but Ive been surfing the web and reading alot about it. Most of the stuff I read doesnt make sense yet.
After 6 years at a job I dont like I decided to go back to school and learn welding. Im 30 years old(I hope not too old to start) and I will be taking the course full time at BCIT in british columbia Canada. Here is My program
Introduction and Safety 2.0
Oxyfuel Gas Cutting 3.0
Oxyacetylene Welding 4.0
Shielded Metal ArcWeld 34.0
Air Carbon Arc Cutting 1.0
Gas Metal Arc/FluxCore 12.0
Material Handling 2.0
Blueprint Reading 1.0
Metallurgy 1.0
I realize these are the basics and will only find me entry level work, But I will continue my studies to become a pressure welder
My course starts on April 4th. Im nervous but looking forward to it. Im hoping to find work in northern BC or Alberta.
