That's a lot of... cats, on one bus!
I thought it was going to be a trick question; maybe 14 or something like that, because bags are not stowed "in" the bus!

Well, kittens in a bag usually mean they won't be alive very long, so does it really matter? Was the bus on the way to a lake or bridge, by any chance?

By 'bags' I thought it meant 'old women' so I was off by 14 extra legs.
I was wondering how they got all the cats inside them, but then this IS the internet and all....

R u genius, then solve this puzzle...?
There is a bus with 7 girls ........7 X 2 = 14 girls legs.
Each girl has 7 bags........7 girls X 7 bags = 49 bags.
In each bag, there are 7 big cats
Each big cat has 7 little cats........So...7 pregnant cats? If so, then 8 cats X 4 legs = 56 legs per fat cat X 7 per bag = 392 cat legs per bag X 49 bags = 19,208 cat legs in bags + 14 girls legs = 19,222 cat & girl legs in the bus.
Each cat has 4 legs .Obviously.......
Question: How many legs are present in bus?.......No fleas or ticks on the cats then?
And there is no driver on the bus!!!!

3 pipeline welder check in at a small town hotel. The girl at the desk tells them a room with 3 beds is $30 for the night. They all chip in $10 and head to their room. The girl later realized that it was supposed to be $25 a night so she takes $5 from the till to give back to the men. Since $5 didn't divide into 3 she gave each man $1 and she kept $2. now each of the men only paid $9 for the room.
Now the real question. If each of the 3 men origenaly $10 (3X$10=$30) now they each only paid $9 (3X$9=$27) plus the $2 the gril kept ($27+$2=$29) what happened to the other dollar???????
Tensaiteki
10-17-2008, 12:11 AM
Aww, jeez.... not this stupid $30 hotel room thing again...
Doesn't anyone realize that this riddle has been around for decades?
There is no missing dollar. The only thing missing is a disturbingly large number of people's ability to realize that the last paragraph is completely wrong.
One way to look at the problem is to add up how much each party has at the end. The men end up with $3, the girl ends up with $2 and the hotel ends up with $25. Therefore $3+$2+$25 = $30, and all is right with the world.
The problem with the last paragraph of the problem is when you try to add the $27 the men [i]paid[/] to the $2 that girl [i]made[/]. This is an extremely basic accounting error, you are trying to add a profit ($3) to a debt ($27) and it just doesn't work like that. If you are going to try to balance things out you have to have all the values as either debts or profits. A $27 debt is the same as a -$27 profit (note the minus-sign). So the equation would be the profit of the men plus the girl's profit plus the hotel's profit: -$27+$2+$25 = 0. Since everything adds to zero, no money wast lost or gained, it all balances out properly.
Anyone who is amazed, mystified, or stumped by this riddle you should feel ashamed of themselves, because it's exactly this kind of ignorance of extremely basic accounting that lets all those big evil corporate executives get away with cooking the books.
Finally, Mega Arc, your attempt to try to give this moldy old riddle some sort of special relevance to this welding forum by giving the three men a specified profession failed completely when you didn't seem to realize the the plural of 'welder' is 'welders.'

I think its 1582 total legs
Lemme see if I got this right.
7 little cats per big cat thats 28 legs x 7 = 196 per bag.
7 big cats per bag thats 196 + 28 =224 legs per bag total.
224 legs per bag x 7 bags thats1568 cat legs
Then we add 14 more for the little girls and come out to 1582 total legs for all IF they wer IN the bus.

Ok, this one is easy. 1! The sacks and cats don't have souls and neither the man, women, sacks, cats or kittens were traveling to St. Ives. :nono:

I don't see where it says any body or legs are on the bus it only says that a bus exists and that 7 girls exist (with way too many pussiescats) It don't say the kids are present on the bus???
I don't know its late and I'm going to bed good night
7 girls = 14 legs
7 bags each with 49 total cats in each bag
7 x 49 = 343 cats per girl
343 x 7 girls = 2401 cats
2401 x 4 legs each = 9604
9604 cat legs + 14 girl legs = 9618
did I miss something?????
edit: oops there's 56 cats in each bag!!
so 56 X 7 bags = 392 cats per girl
392 x 4 legs each = 1568 legs
1568 x 7 girls = 10976
plus 14 girl legs = 10990 ...............got it!

1. also "weldor" A person who welds, especially as a profession.
2. A device that is used for welding.
