I just got my 250P unit and it came with the 200 manual for a non plasma machine. Anyway I hooked it up set my comp. to 65lbs air pressure and started cutting some 3/16 metal. After many trys I can only get the arc to stay lit here and there. I tryed higher air pressure I tried lower pressure. I turned amps down and all the way up. I have tried different pieces of pretty clean no paint metal but it keeps blowing itself out while cutting. I have my own water seperator on the comp and I thought maybe it has gone bad can water do these symptoms?
I have moved the ground clamp near the cut and all around. Is there a dial setting to use besides the voltage? I have not changed the tip yet but did look at it it seemed fine.
Thanks!
Cuda

Cuda,

Go to the everlastwelders.com/manuals and get the Super200P manual, that should be a lot better than the one they packed.

But 65PSI should be just fine. Have you check and made sure nothing is in the nozzle? Did it work for a bit then start doing that? If you want to email or PM me a phone number while you are at the unit I can call you and give you things to check. Also, does the MMA and TIG work? Also, did you try to drag start the cut?

Got it working the tip was not tight. Now my off/on switch went bad it is stuck on I have to pull the power cord to shut it off.

Simple switch to replace, also you can get them at Radio Shack. If you don't want to wait for a replacement. Either way I wouldn't use the pull the power cord for stopping the inverted power supply!!!

STWelder is right, that is not a good idea.

They are a common switch. You should call the office at have one sent to you for a spare.

On the tip, they do not put them on tight at the factory, they do it more so to show people how it goes together. I wish they would tighten down.
