Where is the best place to find tow hooks for a late model pickup? I am gonna check GM dealer price but there should be an aftermarket place for these cheaper I would think.:dizzy:

Junk yard.

They pull them off by the hundreds. Was in one the other day. Had them laying all over the counter.

Any local auto parts store will have a generic model that can be bolted on or welded on. Northern Tools and Equipment has 7500 lb hooks for as low as $6.99 each, or 10,000lb models in black or chrome plated for $8.99.

You have a lot of options, OEM hooks, generic after market hooks, "D" rings, jumbo anchor shackles...the coolest i.m.o. are the military style lifting/tow shackles, but those are fewer and farther between. You could look for hummer style shackles, probably an expensive option.
These are a bit overkill! What can I say? I had a Tim taylor moment! RRR!!!

You should be able to buy the d rings that tanglediver posted at a semi-truck/trailer dealer or parts house. They come in several different sizes and are not too expensive. Weld em on yourself. I have four of them hanging on the back of my old International. Work great as a place for trailer safety chians to hook up. I get them at a place called Catco here in northern MN. Not sure if it is a national or more of a regional store.

Dealer says 90.00 for a pair.I will head for the bone yards around here.Seems they fit 04 to 09 so that was good info. You could use d rings or make some, lot of good ideas offered here.I would like to find the oem's because the holes are in the frame and when mounted they would be hidden. Thanks guys for the responses.

Do the D rings if you can. They're more versatile. You can use chain, a clevis, or a strap without fear of it slipping out.

Dont know if they make them any more but from my experence the round oem tow hooks are a lot stronger than the square ones had square one snap off right were it starts makin the bend were the round ones the bolt holes were getting elongated and still no breaking, actually suprized the bolts didnt shear off in either case.
