I can't seem to find any WW-specific deals for the plasma cutters on the Longevity website.

If you get Simon's attention he does offer some pretty good deals to Welding Web members. Have you tried calling him on the phone?

I contacted Simon to place my order as well. Sure hope it beats using a jig saw and grinder to cut chassis tabs out of 1/8 steel! :cool2:

F500 you are so right, although I haven't used a jigsaw, I has used flat stock to make tabs, then rounded off the ends with the grinder. I have already "drawn" up a number of templates to cut out a number tabs, brakets . . etc.

I'll have to have food and water sent to the shop . . .not gonna want to leave.:laugh:

I know this thread is going all over the place but...

Try using the eMachineshop (http://www.emachineshop.com) software to design your parts. It is simple to use, lets you see the design in 3D, and can print out a precise template. It also exports DXF files which I have sent to a machine shop to fabricate suspension parts. Just don't use the built in machine shop service, it is $$$$$!

Just got my Christmas Bonus from work, and it's burning a hole in my pocket.
I'd like to use it to burn holes in something else.

I like what I'm reading about the 40 amp model.
Now, for my question...I only have a 30 amp circut in the garage, how much am I going to able to do with that? Or do I have to bump-up that circut to match the unit?

Gadget Man,

Thank you for the positive outlook.

Our units will not burn up your bonus cash too much! In fact your operating cost with our machines is much less than the leading brands since the consumables are so much cheaper. Now, for the unit, you will be fine with a 30amp 220v circuit or a 110v 20amp circuit. This little, but powerful machine does not require more than 30amps on the 220v side so your existing setup will be just fine.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM us or call toll free 877-566-4462 and my extension is 201

Thank you for the interest,

Simon

Simon:

Thanks for bringing that up, Please explain the "consumables".
What part is consumed? And do you sell a "Parts Kit" to go along with the units?
I have not found a lot of information on all that.

Oh, and the 30 amp circuit I have in the Garage is only a 110 outlet.
Thats what I'll have to use to start out on.

Thanks,
I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on one of these units.

Gadget Man,

First the consumables depend on the type of unit you are buying, but in general the tips and electrodes are the parts that burn up the quickest. That is why our 80 piece kit offers 30 tips and electrodes and only 10 shield cups and swirl rings. The shield cups and swirl rings are high heat resistant.

As far as 110v, you will be fine with a 20amp circuit in fact. I would not run the compressor of the same circuit, but you should not experience any problems.

Please download our latest wiring manual from our website. Hooking up to 110v is very easy as you use the blue or black wire as the neutral. You will either have a blue or black wire depending on the machine.

I prefer you work on 220v to see the full potential of Longevity plasma cutters, but at 110v you will be able to cut 3/8"

Thank You
