I am considering replacing my Bobcat with a Trailblazer 302. One of the reasons is more process capability on the truck. One thing I am looking forward to be able to do is hook up my Spoolmatic 15A for mig'ing aluminum if I get the WC24 controller to connect it to the Trailblazer.

My question is, how far out (feet of cable) can I go from the engine drive with the spool gun before it creates a problem with running the gun (voltage drop to the gun motor maybe) ?

Thanks for your replies.

Your leads can be as long as you want to drag around as long as they are a large enough gauge to prevent excessive voltage drop.

I've seen 50' extension cables on ebay but don't recall if the cable gauge was listed, nevertheless X2 on what tresi said.

Miller makes a 75' 14 pin cord. It works for the spoolguns, high freq unit and suitcases. I have all three and no issues. However Miller does not recommend more than 75'

Thanks.

How much do they get for one of those 75 foot cords, may I ask ?

I have personly run 225 ft of 14 pin (3-75footers) without any problems.
