I purchased a cut40d on jan 7th 2008. the machine completely failed today jan 19 2009. when i got the machine originally, 1st problem it was missing the air reg and bracket. 2nd It would not power up. i called and was told to check the connectors on the circuit board, I found two unplugged. plugged them in and found the 3rd problem, the shorting contacts on the main board were touching and the machine would not start an arc, i spread them apart and the machine worked. now here it is a year and 12 days later and have a piece of scrap metal. I called to check on warranty status since the website said warrantys were extended to 3 years. I talked to simon and was told that since I purchased the machine new from an ebay authorised seller, that the warranty was only one year since it was not purchased from their online store. "12 days out of warranty" and his only option for me was to send my machine back, with shipping on my dime, and pay 200.00 to get a replacement unit and, pay for the shipping back to me, now i hear that they are giving away 5 year warranty with the same machine. and won't honor warranty on mine 12 days past my pathetic 1 year waranty. considering i only got about 5 hourd of use on it and it crashed. i don't know if i should waste my money on a replacement machine that may not work when i need it. Anyone with suggestions please pipe in. because i am extremely dissapointed in the response i got from longevity today, and from what i read simon usually takes good care of customers, whats the deal with my situation?
