Does anyone know if any welding classes are offered anywhere in Northeast PA area? Was looking at the local community college but it seems as though you have to take an entire major just to get the welding class. Any help would be appreciated. :help:

Check out the link below. I'm not sure exactly where in NW PA you are located, but if there is a welding school close to you, this will tell you where it is. Good luck to ya.

Thanks for the link. Ended up with the local community college first on the list. I think I'll end up going there despite my gripes with the way the financing part of the equation goes. The course description is exactly what I'm looking for.
First semester
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide the student with information related to various types of welding principles utilizing oxy-fuel, stick, mig, and tig welding procedures with emphasis on proper equipment usage and safety operations. These welding procedures will be used in conjunction with parts, chassis, engine, rear axle/front axle and component design, measurement, alignment and fabrication to produce a finished product utilizing the methods of production associated with this manufacturing environment.
Second semester
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide the student with the advanced information related to the various types of welding with emphasis placed on the design and construction of component parts utilized in the production of complete chassis systems. These construction practices will utilize the latest methods of design and production associated with the motorsports industry.
here in buffalo we have adult education classes at the local high schools. the classes run 14 weeks i think and run about $175. i don't believe that your a certified welder when your done, but you do learn to weld.
