I have noticed thatt a lot of new accounts have the name "Solderer" just under the username tag, as does mine. I am guessing that it got added to "seed" file somewhere.
Also; How does one edit that field. I can find nothing in "profile" editing funcitions. If I am just not seeing it please let me know. I would like to change "Solderer"?

I see nothing wrong with being a Solderer either, just means you're a new member to this great site! Like said above, the more posts you make then you move on to a different title.
Doesn't mean that is what kind of "welder" you are! After I joined, it was awhile before I even noticed the Solderer under my name, didn't think twice about it. Being a member of numerous dirt track racing forums, I've been a "Rookie", a "mud scraper", etc.
Besides not everyone can solder, tig, braze, mig & so on, so its no big deal. Glad I can do most welding, just have the chance to try out a Tig yet!
Just my 2 cents! Great site & alot of talented people here!!!

Don't let the title throw you. It isn't a judgement on your charachter or ability. It is only a marker to remind people how many post you have...Why Famer Samm has busted the post-o-meter. They don't even know what to call him anymore. And would you believe he has done it all with dial-up?

We have guys who have been welding longer than I have been alive that just joined and they are "solderers" and "apprentices".
We also have guys who are just learning or are hobby welders that are "tradesmen"
etc.....
Why do people care what it says? Post up some of your work and we will know you're not a solderer
