Hi all. I have been using weldingweb for a while now and just thought i'd introduce myself and give thanks. I work as an economist at georgia state univ, but after work and on weekends I enjoy cutting metal with fire and getting 3rd degree burns. I have been welding (on and off) since high school. I actually attended a vo-tech high school in GA where we were required to learn a trade even if we were going on to college. I chose welding and auto mech because I grew up on a farm and needed the info to help my dad. I have been hooked since then. I really have enjoyed the projects that people have posted and I admire some of the creativity and craftmenship that folks here put into their work. I am sure there are many folks (who don't post) out there that appreciate the information and knowledge you guys provide to other welders and especially hacks like me. I hope to contribute some of my projects soon. Most of the things I do are along the lines of repair (still for dad), so I don't ever think to take picts, but I will try to keep a camera on hand with this site in mind.
