Hello,
I just joined 7/16/2005. I am not in the business, just a hobbiest. Grew up in Ohio, attended Ohio State University, Four years in the Air Force ( Korean era ), worked at IBM for 32 years, 16 years on weekends with NASCAR.
Love to build things. Designed and built two land speed record cars that held and currently hold multiple records on the Bonneville Salt Flats, making a replica of Parnelli Jones Trans AM 1970 Mustang to play with. Live on forty acres in the Chiricahua Mountains of far southeast Arizona.
Have a 40' x 60' shop that i work in and park cars and trucks in. The actual work area is about 20 x 40'.
Have a globe single post floor hoist, old Bridgeport mill, old Doall bandsaw,TIG,MIG,ARC,Gas, plasma cutter and the usual hand tools, brakes, benders, etc.
I am self taught on everything I do so I will spend a lot of time looking at these posts to try and learn.
Sorry if I am too windy. I am going on 73 years old with a fused spine and an artificial hip but I refuse to stop doing what I enjoy and I refuse to stop learning.
Glad to be part of the group,
Howard :waving:
