I want to hear from some of you guys that have ever worked on offshore platforms/oil rigs.i am very interest in knowing any information that anyone has to share.. Hows the pay, is it a good living,is the work hard or backbreaking,can you make a career out of this job,is the insurance/benifits good if you get on full time with a company,what states would be the best to work in this feild???????? Just any information you have to share would be great i am employed right now as a welder but i mostly do mig..i wanted to have a good grip on everything so i enrolled in a tech school for a combination welder certificate/ & state certifications to go along with it i already have a little experience with welding but by no means would i come close to calling myself a know it all... I have a little while to think which way i want to pursue but the offshore oil rig/ platforms interest me the most right now ...
