Just found this site and registered to post. My father farmed for years and also had an engineering degree. He did all of his metal working and repair and started teaching me to weld at 10. Somewhere along the way I decided it was the path for me to take. I look forward in getting to know you guys, and sharing in the helping as well as learning that takes place here. ~Jackson ;)
Welcome to the site,Georgia, hope you have a good time here. I do.

Bill, I am now in Southwest Ga right on the state line in Clay County. I am very familiar with Villa Rica. I lived in Carrollton from 1988 until 1997 where I graduated from Carrollton high school and attended West Georgia College. I still have alot of friends and family in Carrollton. My mother was the assistant principle at Villa Rica primary for a few years, and I worked for Hollingsworth Concrete, and Norton development while I was up there. So I am very familiar with that area. Nice to meet some guys from some familiar territory. ~Jackson

Good to have you. I am from west ga. Born in Haralson and moved to Carroll, a real traveler. I got my undergrad from west ga and decided to stay here. Sitting in the coffee shop on the square right now.

I just noticed...1988. That was my first year at wgc. Where did you spend most of your time at wgc? I was all over and we may have met. I used to drive the campus shuttle bus. I was the Long-haired guy, not the blonde guy. Since I couldnt decide on a major, I did several...so, we may have even had a class together. See my picture at

and paste on long hair and a beard and mustache.

Smithboy, You definitely look familiar. I started WGC in "94 but I moved to Carrollton in 88. My aunt and uncle are both professors at the college, and I was around campus quite a bit. at that time I was a Music major and played lead trumpet with the Jazz band on campus so got around a good bit as well. I lived with my mother out on tyus road for a while and then I lived across from the old braves book store, and on maple st. right next to the Pi Kap. house. Anyway glad to be around now and maybe next time I am up there we can have a beer and talk welding a bit. ~Jackson
