Hey I have always wanted to learn how to weld and my dad and neighboor just went in togeather on a mig welder I think it is (its got an alagator clip you clip to your work and then wire is fed through a cable so what ever that is). But I spent probably 45 minutes getting used to it and got my first welding sun burn lol thats the kind I like. But any ways Im looking to learn how to do it right so I can start making things.

Glad I found this site

LOL

Hey, do you know where I can get the basics of mig welding? How to do it right. All I know is that a weld is supposed to look like a row of coins but I can't seem to do it.

Thanks

Try this, I will try to find some other stuff for ya to. Just pretend this is the machine you are using. The process is also referred to as GMAW or FCAW, depending on whether you are using gas shiedling or a self-shielding flux core wire.
