I believe that was posted last week. Funny thing is, I've witnessed worse being done to a Miller and a Lincoln, on separate occasions though.
Bye, bye, This thread will self destruct momentarily.

Let's not let reposting of the same ole, same ole...yes everyone has a right to their opinion but let's not clutter the forum with repeats of the same stuff. I have had Miller, Lincoln and other makes that would make good destruction videos as well; especially a Miller Dynasty that they want $1000 for a replacement circuit board and only give me a 90 day warranty after they charge that much! I actually bought a Longevity 200P and it's performed extremely well with no problems and good support so there's two sides to every issue.

Well jbman45 its good to see that someone is using the machine for its intended job instead of turning it into an expensive boat anchor

Hey Bob,
That guy is a complete MORON! "As Americans we should buy American made products" he says. Well yeah, but he makes that statement while he is wearing clothes that not one stitch was made in the USA, shoots the video with a camera that is not made in the USA, and posts said video on the internet with a computer that is not made in the USA. And I will guarantee you that in just a matter of a few minutes in his garage, I could point out MANY other things that are not made in the USA. That makes him a hypocritical MORON!!
Unless you utilize something like this for all your purchases then that dog and pony show is a joke.

Buy 100% American or quit crying. It is all or nothing.
Not to mention that he is obviously to stupid to get his problem fixed.
Sorry Bob, that dog don't hunt buddy.

Guys,
We will keep the video up as a perfect example of what NOT to do in case you need us to warranty a product or as an example of how NOT to lose your hard earned American dollar.
ps: Longevity only sold 25 or so units of the Super 160 model maybe 3 years ago. The Super160P was its predecessor and we never carried that unit again because everyone demanded pulse.
I still see these in blue colors all around the internet and craigslist. I cannot even validate that this is our unit. If it is, the guy should have just come to us and let us help him! Plain and simple, he has lost his marbles or this is some sort of immature publicity stunt.:dizzy:

Maybe there will be a "Cash For Clunkers" program for welding equipment that is fine for most people but isn't making anybody any money. They can give me 1000 for my 500 machine that WORKS GREAT so I can go into debt and get something that has the same capabilities for 3000!
Maybe I will BORROW the money so I can keep up with the joneses.
On second thought I will keep my longevity machines :)

That was painful to watch. He got me, I was psyched for a demo. I wish he could have sold it to me, I'd have opened it up and hopefully fixed it.
Here's a question... What happens after the warranty is up? Are there schematics included in the manuals? What's in the welder? Are there microcontrollers with proprietary code that would be pretty much impossible to replace? Is it mostly off-the-shelf parts? Simon, do you have a out-of-warranty repair service for those of us who can't or won't repair it ourselves?
Thanks!

If the unit was purchased from us or from anyone else, Longevity still offers to replace the unit.
If the unit is out of warranty from Longevity, we charge a small replacement fee and the replaced unit comes with a 5 year warranty. So lets say your unit broke on the 6th year, you give us a call, send back your old unit, pay the fee and shipping and you get a new unit with a 5 year warranty including a 30 day DOA Guarantee.
For example if another supplier is not honoring the warranty, we take the unit back and charge a fee based on the model + shipping and offer the individual a Longevity unit with a 5 year warranty.
What this person did was more of kid show that proved Longevity is being recognized in the welding industry and some eyes are not ready for it. I just laugh thinking he moved his toyota out of the driveway before he took the video with a Sony camera.
There is no reason Longevity would not help anyone when we helped many of our own and direct competitor customers and all have been documented on the longevity welding forum.
I am shutting this thread down because I think this is a kids game. The video is there for everyone to see - i dont have a problem with it, but i dont want to spend time discussing it and wish to return to taking care of my customers.
Thanks,
Simon

That sounds pretty good. It seems like the guy just had a meltdown.

Looks like someone with more money than brains but just a little stingy thrown in for good measure I hope he is feeling better now that there 's no chance of return! My LS 160P still working fine.

I remember back when I was a bit of a hot head kicking a miller power source off of a welding cart. Still worked after. I also almost drove a miller welder through the wall in another shop while I was flipping something back in the day (whoops).
In both instances, the machines still worked afterwards!

I agree. He could have just calmed down and tried to work with Longevity for repair/replace. Now he's really out $700. If he was so worried about "buy American" then why did he buy it in the first place?

:dizzy:My wife's Japaneese Toyota is made in USA and my American Dodge Ram 1500 was made in Mexico. And American welders have foreign parts in them. It is a crazy world.:dizzy:
