Purchased unit arrived in 5 days. Some damage to the box and the inner packing, the machine seems to have survived the rough shipping by UPS. Machine came equipped as advertised and promised. Only problem was an issue with the wiring while installing a welder plug. That issue should be addressed with an addendum to the instructions packed with the machine.
I purchased this machine for my home work shop and to practice and learn the art of tig welding. My limited experience with tig involved the use of a Miller Buzz box with a tig torch fusing seams of stainless duct work to many years ago. My goal is to get proficient enough to weld brackets and thin wall stainless tubing. The ability to lay down an esthetically pleasing weld would be a plus.
Now to the evaluation. With my limited exposure to tig welding I could not evaluate any tig welder. I enlisted the help of a friend and 40 year tig welder. I wanted to know if the welder welded good enough to have a functional practice tool. We welded with straight DC with the foot pedal. I also received a basic tig welding lesson while he evaluated the machine.
His remarks were, very smooth arc, good linear pedal, nice welder, welds as good as my square wave Lincoln welder.
As far as reliability I have no clue. I did look inside the welder because of the the condition of the box. The insides looked like any other circuit boards I have looked at. The assembly quality looked good to me.
