This is the new exclusive line of Everlast Welding helmets. . Units feature CE certification. Switching time is at 0.1 ms -0.3 ms througout temperature range. Temperature range is 14F to 140F. Most units feature digital sensitivity and delay adjustments. The top of the line unit features 4 sensors with shades 9-13. We are also offering and extended shade range of 7-15 shade with 2 sensors, and regular 9-13 shades with 2 sensors. Light shade is 4. The units include Lithium Ion batteries with up to 5000 hours before changing. It has an audible alarm to warn you when the unit gets low on battery power.

The helmets are made from durable ABS plastic.

The units have auto compensating technology that automatically "trues" the shade to compensate for temperature difference.

The prices are yet to be determined, but they will be the lowest in their class. The following pictures are of the actual test models. Warranty will be a minimum of 2 years.

The last image is scheduled to be released later this year. It features auto adjusting shade. It senses arc intensity and automatically adjusts the shade to the recommended shade darkness.

No,
Samm, I've seen the light. The dark side is hatred, anger, name calling, and closed mindedness. If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem...I believe that and have shouldered those beliefs and am sticking to them...Any lazy school age bully can sit back, ridicule, blast, and destroy something he doesn't understand, or makes him insecure or doesn't have any personal experience with. It only takes a coward to sit back and watch it happen. And It takes a real man to get involved, find out what the real problems are and get in there and fix it.

Just curious, would the light that you are seeing happen to be attached to the front of a freight train headed in your direction?

Lug, You can put me down for one. I don't really need a hood I have a white pipe liner and a Wendy and 3 Jaksons with the flip up and one with the large front. But I have been wondering about what the rage is about with the Auto Darks. I don't want to put a lot of money in one because I might not use it even if it is the best on the market - I guess I am a little old fashioned. Green ain't my favorite color, but neither is red or blue. My favorite color is yellow.

Hey Lug - if you are going to work for these guys it is probably not in your best interest to use the word SHAM when you are describing their wonderful products. Just thinking out loud here.

Luggy, just a question. You being paid Salary, or just Commission, by your new BOSS???? And if commission, is it based ONLY on your own sales, or on total gross sales, whether or not your name is attached to the sale order. Just wondering, based on your new BOSS's previous history here.

I will say, they are much nicer looking than the Harbor Freight helmets. :D

I bought a cheap lens for a helmet I had for a backup about 5 years ago.

It was junk. I know nothing about these, but my experience with the "less expensive" imports was not good. JMHO, I won't buy another one.

Like I said, can't say with these personally.

I have used Huntsman Auto lenses for over a decade. They cost, but have been quite reliable in all types of conditions, weather & tempratures. I like the fact they drop into any big window Fibre Metal helmet with no special cover lenses to buy.

If the Huntsman AVXL I have dies, I'll most likely buy another.

6010,

It'll probably be about 4-6 weeks before we have them ready for retail. We will try to keep you updated. The cheap one will be the middle one...It has a larger viewing area, but dial type controls instead of digital push button...But it would be good one to try if you aren't wanting to put a lot of money into one. The helmets are available with yellow trim...But since green is the official company color we wanted to release these in company trim.

HalfStep,

The reason I used the S word was because, this factory indeed has several CE certificates for their units including the ones we will be selling. Also they have DIN CERTCO. Given the recent accusations floating around, I wanted to underscore the fact that what has been the focus of Everlast is to offer the best possible product at the best possible price. The allegations of having cloned units that are the same as the other imported vendors and all of it being the same "junk" are not founded in reality.

Mark,

May compensation is not anyone's business.

Here's an update: A new video about the welding helmet product. It's not the best quality production...but it gives a better idea of product features. The 800 number at the end needs to be corrected to 877. I will have it redone soon, but here's the idea.

The auto-darkening welding helmet I am using now with my Everlast Super200P (a Harbor Freight cheapie) does from shade 9-13. The shade range works OK for TIG welding. However, I find even the lightest setting (at shade 9) is too dark for plasma cutting. I found I kept buggering up my cuts, touching the torch to the work or pulling it away too far and extinguishing the cut, and went through a lot of consumables in the process dragging the tip across the work. Also the dragging made it hard to move smoothly across the work and I found with it "skipping" across the surface, it hard to get an even, complete cut.

As soon as I removed the helmet and tried it without the helmet, my plasma cutting results instantly improved by several orders of magnitude. For my next plasma cutting project I may have to dig up my old oxy-acetylene lighter shade goggles. However this auto-darkening helmet that can go as light as a shade 4 while going as dark as a 10+ sound like it could be be just the ticket for us users with combo units that do welding & plasma cutting.

PS - my welding helmet only has the light sensor across the top. I found this has limitations when I was welding underneath a car in an awkward position once, and the fender of the car was blocking out the sensor. Looking at a TIG arc without the shade activating in not very pleasant! So the multi-sensor feature sounds pretty nice to have too.

Looking forward to hearing about their pricing and when these new helmets are available! Thanks.

Yes, it has taken some time, just like getting our new power series right before we release them. They are on order. We have tested multiple copies of each of them thoroughly for several months now since about the end of July in real world environments, found a couple of weak spots and got them corrected. We reevaluated them and because of some input from our testers, and a recent factory advancement allowing us to combine two filters into one we have actually decided to lower the number of helmets we will carry to three. But one of the new advancements will be a 4 sensor digital filter that will automatically compensate the shade darkness based off arc intensity. This will be among an elite class of filters as their are only a couple of brands with this technology. The shade range will be 9-13. We will offer the standard analog controlled filter in a nicer helmet and the digital 7-15 shade for extended and varied welding needs.
