Just purchase a Miller Maxstar STH - mostly as a hobby but may turn it into a more lucrative midnight money maker. Took a course recently and liked this unit. So, here goes my wishlist:
(1) Anybody got any videos or DVD's on TIG to sell or such?
(2) I'd like to buy a "ReadyWelder" 10250 for my Maxstar.
(3) If you live near Columbia SC, gimme a holler.

You might opt for a regular spool gun in good used condition over the ready welder. I have used that exact unit and although it works pretty well, it is not ideal as a spool gun substitute. The ready welder really shines when the only power you have is a couple of batteries, but hooked to a nice power source, it lacks the convienience and flexibility of a more conventional spool gun. However, if you intend to have only one gun that you use for remote welding (out of shop and away from plug-ins) as well as in-shop, it might be worth a try. My biggest gripes with the RW are the short cable length (easliy fixed) and the very wasteful gas valve (not easily fixed).
