These pics are not mine, but surfing the Internet gave me plenty of ideas that I think all of us could be inspired by. To whomever made and posted these originally, thank you for sharing!

Harbor Freight makes great "el cheapo" wrenches that we can buy in bulk and spark them up for projects.

I've got no problem with the cheap chinese poo spanners being used, stuff of this style looks great in the man cave or the shed, but it breaks my heart to see heavy old forged spanners being sacrificed!

I'm with Match 1 on this - I hate to see a good wrench go to waste, even for the sake of art.

I don't mind seeing them out to use and on display on a daily basis, especially when they'd otherwise be collecting rust. Art is cool.

For a coat hanger, I'd weld in a nut so that it wouldn't snag the coat. Or use a box end wrench.

I'm trying to gather enough wrenches for a Christmas present for a buddy of mine who is building a new workshop. It's a dinasaur made out of all old wrenches. I'm calling it T wrench.

Found another interesting variation on the bench, and a lot more.

A welder/artist (John Piccoli) in Australia, creates sculptures using tons of old wrenches. Not sure which is more amazing, the size of his creations, or the fact that he does it while confined to a wheelchair.

No official webpage, but google search SPANNERMAN BOORT VICTORIA will give results.

Attached a couple of sample pics.

A lot of good wrenches that will never get used again, such a sad fate.

That stuff looks awesome! I'd like to make a fireplace grate out of wrenches. Maybe I'll go to harbor freight and buy all of their cheapie wrenches and make something cool.
